Storymaking in Education and Therapy by Alida Gersie A practical book containing a range of stories sorted into themes including beginnings, healing and returns. Each theme is provided with a description, a set of stories from all over the world and a session structure that could be used in therapeutic or educational settings. The book begins by tracing the history of dance leading to the present place of dance and dance drama in education. This is followed by separate chapters on the language of movement; aims of the teacher of dance and dance drama; the link between the arts of dance and dance drama; and dance and dance drama as therapy. Cordi concluded that storytelling, storymaking, and drama can be used as systems of learning instead of as just entertainment. In You Don’t Know Jack: A Storyteller Goes to School, Cordi describes the process of integrating storytelling into his classroom. Using autoethnographic writing, he reflects upon the use of storytelling and Author: Kevin D. Cordi.
